Delegating: It's Good Business

When I started my bookkeeping business back in March 2019, I thought I could do it all by myself.  I wanted full control of my business and didn’t want anyone to “work” on anything for my business.  It was my “baby”.

As time went by, I did my own marketing which took so much time, created my own website which was okay and ran my business how I thought it should be run.  Well, as time went by, I felt that I was spending too much time on creating things for my business instead of focusing on my clients and bookkeeping work.  I had no real schedule – things were all over the place.

At the end of 2019, I decided to contact a productivity coach which helped me streamline my days and when to block off time for my business work.  That has helped so much!  After I saw what other people can help me with, I knew I could get more help with other things I was struggling with.  A few months after that, I hired a website designer, a content creator, and an accounting business coach.

I continue to keep in contact with people that have mentored me over these past couple of years.  If I could tell myself some advice before I started my business is that you will always be in control of your business because you make the final decisions and do what you do best.  If you are not sure what to do with a certain aspect of the business, hire a professional.  They really know what they are doing and can help you save time and possibly, even some money.
