GUEST BLOG: Z Pita Chipz

June 2023 Edition

Welcome to our first Guest Blog with A La Carte Business Advisors! We are excited on this new venture! Thank you for joining us! We’re changing up our blogs just a little bit this time around! Every month, we will find or get recommendations for food products that people use in their recipes and share those recipes with you all!

This month, we decided to go with Z Pita Chipz. which are based right out of Warren, RI! We asked our team members and they really love these pita chipz! They even mail them to family members because they are so good!

A little bit about Z Pita Chipz……….

Back in Spring of 2014, Z food truck hit the streets. They served their pita chipz as a special from time to time, but it didn't take long before customers requested to have them available on a daily basis. Eventually, they couldn't go anywhere without having them on board.

Now, they're proudly making Z pita chipz. in their home state of Rhode Island. Their chipz are lightly seasoned and are free from artificial ingredients, added preservatives and artificial colors. Zip. Zero. Zilch. We work with local vendors which means you'll be supporting the small business community when you make a purchase.

You can get them in either RI or MA so where ever you are, make sure to check out the locations:

In RI, you can get them HERE

In MA, you can get them HERE

If you order online, you can also get FREE shipping on orders over $100!! Go to https://zpitachipz.com to place your order!

So, my all time favorite summer salad that my family & I have is called Fatoosh - it’s like tabouli but it’s a little different.

Here’s the recipe for those that would like to make it at home too:

Fatoosh

Serves 4 people

Ingredients

4 bunches of flat parsley, chopped (it’s usually 1 person per bunch)

2 tomatoes, coarsely chopped

2 peppers (whatever color you like), coarsely chopped

1 small onion, diced

2 cucumbers, coarsely chopped

juice of 3 lemons

6 Tablespoons Olive Oil

2 Tablespoons Sumac

1 Tablespoon Cumin

1 Teaspoon Salt

A dash of Cayenne pepper

1 bag of Z Pita Chipz (sea salt) broken up into smaller pieces

Instructions

  1. With the parsley bunches, unravel one bunch. Wash the bunch & remove any yellow or rotten pieces. Then, you would need to take each stem & match up all the leaves to be the same level. You might need to break short pieces & bring them to the level of where the majority of the leaves are. Once, you complete one bunch, you can cut the stems so you can start chopping the leaves of the parsley. It’s ok if there’s a little bit of stems you cut but I do this step so I can cut more leaves instead of having a lot of stems. It’s the most tedious part in this recipe. Start chopping, but not too fine. Place all of the chopped parsley in medium serving bowl.

2. Cut up all the vegetables & add all of the ingredients together in a medium size bowl. Mix together. Enjoy.
